This band sounded at the happiest moments of my life, I discovered it thanks to my best friend. He pased years ago, when we where 17. That broke my heart, I couldn’t listen Red Hot songs for a long time cause’ resulted painfull to be alone. The time passed, I’m 31 now, the scars healed (at the measure as possible) and I keep listening again, and rememberig the happiest moments, but in a good way. The only way is move forward.

For me this Track is a history. In 1991 when USSR broke up (it is like USA breaking for 50 independent states) I went from one city to another like from Texas to Florida. It was high school and I was expecting boolying in my new neigbrourhood. I set my radio on. And the first music I listened to was Under the Bridge. It was opening for me. It made my day and worries went through. It helped me to become normal man through suffering -:) of bullying and drags )

One of the few bands that have consistently good music from the very beginning of their career. Of course some eras are slightly a bit better than others. John Frusciante def. makes Californication to Stadium Arcadium their golden era. Blood Sugar Sex Magik is, to me, their magnum opus with Mother’s Milk being their step up from James Brown Alternative Rock. They are the only band that made Navarro even the least bit interesting in One Hot Minute. When Frusciante left the second time, they made great experimental albums I’m With You and The Getaway with Josh Klinghoffer and exchanging Rubin as producer on The Getaway with Danger Mouse, which was odd and Rubin is better but Danger Mouse did a decent job throwing curb balls in the production. I heard somebody say that their best music is the past but with the return of Frusciante and from what I hear Rubin as well then I dispute that claim whole heartedly. When a talented band like Red Hot Chili Peppers give themselves no boundaries and will incorporate whatever the hell type of musical styles in their songs, they can go on making, if not great, but at least good music until the end of the band,

The Happiest Sad Birthday
Let me tell you a true story that sends an important message to all of us. Halleli, a 4-year-old girl from Jerusalem with special needs, wanted to celebrate her birthday with her friends from kindergarten. Her loving parents arranged for everything: the place, the food and sweets, a clown to entertain the kids, and various fun activities that all the children enjoy doing. All her friends from kindergarten had promised they would come, and Halleli couldn’t wait to celebrate with them. But in the end, only one girl showed up. The candy, the clown, and the games just stood there, untouched and unwanted.
The next day, heartbroken, the girl refused to go to kindergarten. Her parents were beside themselves with sorrow and worry for their child and didn’t know how to comfort her. In his distress, Halleli’s father posted on social media what had happened, and matters took a sharp turn for the better.
A man from the neighborhood read the post and was overcome with emotion. “I have kids too,” he thought. “What if she were my daughter?” He felt he had to do something to give that girl an experience that would wash away her sadness. He decided to throw her the birthday party of her life.
He combed the neighborhood and told everyone about Halleli and that he was organizing a birthday party for her and asked everyone to come. A few days later, Halleli had her party. This time, hundreds of children and their parents showed up to make the little girl happy on her special day. Her parents were overjoyed and grateful beyond words to the kind stranger, and as for Halleli, her face beamed brighter than the sun.
This story doesn’t only tell us about human kindness. It is a warning sign. It demonstrates how heartless, perhaps even cruel, we can be if we are not organized and galvanized into positive action. It also proves the immense potential that lies in establishing mutual responsibility in society. When people who don’t know each other help each other because this is the value they live by, there is no end to what such a society can achieve.
The Jewish people became a nation when complete strangers found the words of their teacher, Abraham, compelling enough to implement. His teachings about kindness and mercy as the key to solving society’s problems struck a chord in the hearts of his listeners and they joined his group. This is why mutual responsibility and “love your neighbor as yourself” are the tenets of Judaism – social laws that relate not to God but to our fellow person.
Today, when alienation permeates every corner of human society, we desperately need mutual responsibility and care for others. These are the only qualities, the only values that can keep human society from collapsing altogether. Just as Abraham had found that the remedy to his homeland’s social ills were care for others, all of us must now realize that the cure for heartlessness has not changed since ancient times. The only difference is that alienation has now spread throughout the world.
Humanity must do today what the ancient Hebrews did – unite across divisions and establish love of others where today there is nothing but hatred. Perhaps such moving stories as the one about Halleli’s birthday will help us realize that mutual responsibility is not a noble but unrealistic notion, but an imperative step we must take to ensure our survival as a functioning society.

I remember when the music video for Californication premiered on TRL, I begged and begged my parents to let me buy this CD like with my own money but they refused to let me get it because the song was in their opinion only about fornicating… like i literally broke down all the lyrics and interpreted them tryiing to explain its not necessarily what you’re hearing on the surface and showed them the music video didnt have any “inappropriate” imagery… they didn’t give a damn and i still wasnt allowed to buy the album for myself because the stupid parental advisory stickers… i had no way to get to the store on my own or no way to get it from a friend because i was so isolated… my parents never had any cds or listened to anything really and i was stuck having to fight even to just get a few boyband cds and when i could finally get my hands on real music literally everything with a PA sticker was taken from me…. It was miserable i was perpetually grounded and left alone in silence in my room… didnt even have church hymns on the weekends….any music i could sneak by them was one of the only things i had to latch on to or relate to and they always said everything i listened to was garbage yet it was what was keeping me alive. Even when i had headphones on i was yelled at for what i was listening too or told to turn It down or off…

Although this is a private or personal YouTube channel, it is still aimed at a public; so this gives me the freedom to comment on it, in this case I want to comment on the “title” and on the “content”:
Saying “The best of” is wrong, because… who decides what is better or not better of something? Nobody owns the reason or the truth, in any case the most correct thing is to say: “The best for me from …” or My favorite songs from RHCP…. “.
Additionally I must say that the selection is not bad, there are very good songs, but you are leaving out a lot of good songs (bias).
I see that you are a fan of the album “By The Way” for the amount of songs you put, that gives a greater bias to your post.
Either way, thanks for sharing these great songs.

I disagree. Too much songs from “Stadium Arcadium” and too much songs from “By the way”. And only 4 songs from Californication and Blood sugar….? Blood sugar… and Californication are their best albums. More songs (here not included), for example: from Blood sugar sex magik: Give it away, Suck my kiss, Breaking the girl, – from Californication: Around the world, Parallel universe. Album “By the way” is weak and Stadium Arcadium is much more weaker – there is no good song on Stadium Arcadium.
