Those added guitar flourishes make this the definitive version for me. At 5:17 Joe and Don do a call-and-response with a pick slide that fits in perfectly with the arrangement. I also think it’s sweet that they don’t do that part or the modified arpeggio at the end unless they’re playing the song with each other. Look up videos of Felder with Styx or Walsh with the Eagles post-1998, then look up their Rock n Roll Hall of Fame performance.

I was at this show at the Capitol Centre in Largo, Maryland-17 years old & graduated high school that year. Tix were $14. Sat on lower concourse on Joe Walsh’s side. I was in awe. Best encore ever-everyone in the band came out and played acoustic guitars singing Best of My Love…no drums or keyboards or steel guitar. Just beautiful. Never forgot this show.
