Depressed dying industries hanging on through grit and longing. Us ‘Geordies’ could relate to this music..the rough wirh the smooth and the bawdy.. My early heroes from England, Eric Clapton, Peter Green and later Marc Knopfler as well as local bands like Downtown Faction worshipped at the altars of Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, BB King, Howling Wolf and all the other authors of The Blues…
So tonight in my 70th year, holidaying in the warm heat of a Barbados beach, it’s a delight to swim in the blue sea of the Blues with artists I’m not familar with except Rory Gallagher [ a genius live] and Jimmy Witherspoon..

There was an old long slow majestic blues song i heard in an old hotel full of drunks, coming from one of the guys rooms, he died a few days later. Bardzo wykopana w kosmos dźwiękiem składanka Bluesowa. Wokal był wybitnie piękny zarówno męski jak i żeński, ale tutaj był bardzo Bluesowy twardy i czysty w dźwięku. Gitary były znakomite dynamiczne, solówki gitarowe były wybitne, jak najbardziej twarde skały w górach i miały swój klimat dla tej kategorii muzycznej. Perkusja była bardzo bezpośrednia dynamiczna żywiołowa, ale również bardziej zmysłowa i zbawienna dla wielu cudownych piosenek. Były wspaniałe klawisze magiczne, a wśród nich wyborny w dźwięku fortepian, który jest równie wspaniały jak syntezatory i organy w innych skladankach oczywiście. Na samym końcu była bardzo nastrojowa muzyka, przepiękna z krótkim epizodem skrzypiec.
